Describe one of your favorite moments.
I never thought the day would come when I would say employment holds a lot of my favourite moments. I used to be an Activity Assistant for aged care and disability and I’m telling you it is the most rewarding and heartbreaking thing I’ve ever done.
My role as activity assistant had many great things I loved, the social interactions, making people smile and laugh, and getting them to interact with other people and in the community. Feeding them, driving them around in a big bus to events. The list just goes on, and after a few months of working there, I said to my boss I don’t understand why you’re paying me as I’d do this for free every day.
I think I definitely found my calling, but due to a back injury, I am no longer able to work in that role. I really used to love creating activities too, I really miss doing that.
Today, I felt like slipping into my old shoes for a while, and I created some activities online, so anyone reading this post scroll to the bottom and have a crack at a puzzle or word search, the great thing is you play them using your phone, computer or you can be old fashioned print some off 😉.
Some of the puzzles are themed for India as a great deal of the readers coming to my site are from there and wanted to learn I little more, so I did. If I need to be corrected on anything, please feel free to comment.
I’d love to make them weekly for the online community. I have about 10 different types of online activities we can get to know over time, I’d love to bring back some of my old job into my everyday life.
